The Possibility of Knowing

Robert Zhao, 2013.

The Possibility of Knowing focuses on the before and after of a natural disaster, and examines the tension and the fragility of landscapes in areas that are subject to such hazards. One possible interpretation of the tied dogs, photographed in the city of Banda Aceh, is that they represent the deterministic view that believes that there is nothing that communities can do to protect themselves from possible tsunami disasters.
